Optimizing Your Calls-to-Action

The calls-to-action (CTAs) on your website can greatly influence a user’s decision to make a purchase, call your business, or engage in other ways that can increase your bottom line. Several factors contribute to the effectiveness of the CTAs on your website.

Placement

CTAs should have prominent placement throughout your website. Users should not have to scroll down to find the CTA. The upper-righthand corner of a webpage is typically a good place for a CTA. You should place additional CTAs above the fold of the webpage.

Design

CTAs also need to be visually eye-catching. Most CTAs are clickable buttons, and they should take the overall look and feel of the rest of your website into account. Try using a tone within your web design’s color palette that stands out without looking garish.

Wording

CTAs should get your point across succinctly and clearly. Be direct. Sometimes phrases as simple as “Buy Now” or “Schedule Your Appointment” can be effective. Think about the people your target market consists of and the messaging they will most likely react to positively.
